Mark and I love attending the Gallery Hop in Columbus. Held the first Saturday night of the month in the city’s Short North district, the event is a fun evening of dining out, window shopping, enjoying street artists, and visiting the district’s many art galleries which stay open late for the hop.
Galleries are a great place to gain inspiration. Last night I saw ceramics and glass work as well as paintings in a wide variety of styles. In the picture above I’m standing in front of one of my favorites, Brandt-Roberts Galleries. I always come away with new ideas after viewing the works on display.
With multiple galleries and a defined Arts District that includes the Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus has become an arts mecca where artists and art lovers can spend days visiting galleries and shows, take classes in all sorts of art media, and network with other artists.
