My husband, Mark, is the true photographer in the family, but I take a few shots myself now and then. Here are a few of the best ones. The first four of these were awarded first or second place in  Ohio Valley Regional Arts Council competitions.

I took this one at Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Blooms & Butterflies is an annual exhibition of live butterflies. The glass sculpture is part of FPC’s permanent collection by Dale Chihuly.

I snapped this portrait at the Dogwood Festival Parade in Pike County, Ohio.

Mark and I enjoy visiting Urban Scrawl, an annual art festival in Columbus Ohio. Artists paint extra-large canvasses throughout the event.

This photo is one of my all-time favorites. I took this one at Urban Scrawl too.

This nine-year-old popcorn vendor working at a circus while other children romped and played around him caught my eye.
